What all does the holding tank come with?

The tank will arrive with a drain (ABS so you can begin to glue to the tank draining system). This is called a HUB Drain or outlet. Most tanks will come with the sensors/probes for the monitoring system installed. Don’t fear if the tank arrives without them, they are included in the holding tank kit available for purchase.

Does my tank come with everything I need?

The tank comes complete with what you need to hook up to your drain system, but you will need a kit to customize your inlets to your specific unit. (Part # VBKITH)

What comes in the holding tank kit?

The VBKITH kit will come with everything you need to make your tank a black water or grey water tank as well as probes.  Installation instructions for the rubber grommets are also included in the kit. The instructions will tell you what size hole you need for each grommet. The hole size is critical – be sure to verify the hole size before you drill your tank.

The kit includes:

  • (1) 3” grommet
  • (1) 3” barbed coupler
  • (1) 1.5” grommet
  • (1) 1.5” barbed coupler
  • (6) grommet style probe sensors

Do I need to use sealant on my fittings?

No, sealant is not necessary if the grommet is installed properly. You may use butyl caulk if you prefer.  This can be purchased at your local home improvement store.

I need a replacement hub, can you send me one?

Yes, the part number is VB113HORKIT.  This includes a 3” hub and o-ring.

Which glue can I use to secure my fittings?

There is no glue that will permanently secure your fittings to your tank.  You will need to supply a print to the manufacturer with placement and size of the fittings you need.

What is the glue I see around the fittings on my potable water tank?

This is not glue but is the actual tank and fitting being melted together via the spin weld process.

Is my potable water tank NSF61 certified?

Our tanks are listed with TEI and the listing certifies them to CSA Z240.3.2 and IAPMO TS 4. These two standards require the use of NSF61 material.
